888 Welcomes Former Flutter Entertainment Executive Gallagher as Chief Product Officer

Leading betting and gaming company, 888 Holdings, has appointed Ian Gallagher as its new chief product officer. The company acquired the global, non-US business of William Hill in 2022 and continues to expand its executive team with this new addition.

As the chief product officer, Gallagher will be responsible for leading the group’s product vision and development for international global brands and business units, including Mr. Green, William Hill, 888casino, 888poker, and 888sport. Additionally, 888 operates the SI Sportsbook and SI Casino brands as part of a US-based agreement with Authentic Brands Group.

Gallagher expressed his excitement for the new role and the opportunity to work with 888’s chief executive officer, Per Widerström. Widerström welcomed Gallagher to the team, expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration.

888 spokesperson also expressed delight in strengthening their executive team through Gallagher’s appointment and praised his track record of driving product development in leading online gaming businesses. The company aims to harness Gallagher’s expertise and skills as they continue to grow their world-class portfolio.

Prior to joining 888, Gallagher spent seven years with Flutter Entertainment in various positions, including product director for the parent company. He also worked for Paddy Power Betfair, where he contributed to the company’s iGaming product division. Additionally, he has experience as a senior casino manager at The Stars Group, formerly known as Rational Group.

Gallagher’s appointment comes on the heels of Per Widerström’s appointment as CEO and the upcoming transition of chief financial operator Sean Wilkins, who will replace Yariv Dafna next month. In the interim, chief strategy officer Vaughan Lewis will serve as the interim finance chief.

In addition to these executive appointments, 888 Holdings recently announced agreements with REEVO and Pragmatic Play to enhance their content offerings.

Overall, Gallagher’s appointment as chief product officer reflects 888 Holdings’ commitment to growth and enhancing their product development capabilities as they continue to expand their global presence in the betting and gaming industry.
