Allwyn Acquires Majority Ownership in Instant Win Gaming

Lottery leader Allwyn has announced a new partnership with Instant Win Gaming (IWG), a top supplier of digital e-Instant and instant win games. The collaboration with IWG’s co-founders, Rhydian Fisher and Simon Bucknall, aims to drive innovation in the instant win games sector and enhance Allwyn’s content offerings. To solidify this partnership, Allwyn has agreed to invest in IWG, acquiring a 70% stake in the company. The investment is set to close in the second half of 2024, pending standard closing conditions.

IWG, which provides instant win games to over 25 national and state lotteries, holds a strong position in the North American market and is renowned for its game portfolio across various categories. With an EBITDA of £18.2 million as of April 30, 2023, IWG is poised for further growth and success with Allwyn’s investment.

Allwyn’s Chief Investment Officer, Stepan Dlouhy, expressed confidence in the partnership, noting that it will enable the team to integrate high-quality content throughout the group, emphasizing their commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to their global player base. Dlouhy also praised the expertise of IWG’s co-founders, highlighting their sector knowledge and creativity as valuable assets for collaboration and exploration of new opportunities.

Rhydian Fisher, CEO of IWG, echoed Dlouhy’s sentiments, stating that the partnership with Allwyn will amplify IWG’s success and generate value for its partners. Fisher anticipates that Allwyn’s expertise and understanding of the lottery consumer will deliver immediate and significant value for IWG’s existing partners, while also creating new opportunities for the company’s game development.

In addition to this exciting partnership, Allwyn recently took over The National Lottery in the UK and launched a new marketing campaign to commemorate the occasion. The collaboration with IWG and the acquisition of The National Lottery demonstrate Allwyn’s commitment to growth and innovation in the lottery and instant win games industry.
