The internationally recognized independent testing agency, eCOGRA, has announced plans to open a new office in Denver, Colorado, as part of a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the United States. The agency, which specializes in assessing, inspecting, and certifying online gambling systems and software, has also appointed Daniel Remmes as the new US director of compliance in conjunction with this expansion.
The new office in Colorado will serve as a hub for eCOGRA’s operations in the US, responding to the increased demand for its services driven by the rapid growth of the iGaming industry in North America. It will provide support to clients with assessments of random number generators, software testing, cybersecurity evaluations, and reviews of regulatory compliance.
Shaun McCallaghan, eCOGRA’s CEO, expressed excitement about the expansion of the agency’s operations in the US, stating confidence that the presence in Colorado will play a pivotal role in the overall growth of the organization. The appointment of Daniel Remmes was described as an outstanding addition to the team, given his extensive experience and invaluable knowledge of the US online gambling market.
Daniel Remmes, who brings more than a decade of iGaming regulation and compliance experience with companies such as PlayUp Limited, IGT, and the Carousel Group, expressed his enthusiasm for his new role with eCOGRA. He looks forward to leveraging his experience to ensure that regulatory issues and customer initiatives are given the importance they deserve.
eCOGRA serves as the regulatory audit partner for over 200 multi-jurisdictional operators and software providers in the online gambling industry. The expansion into the US is seen as a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting integrity and best practices in the industry. With the new office and team of experts, eCOGRA aims to provide world-class services to a wider range of clients while continuing its mission to guarantee fair and responsible gambling.
In the past year, eCOGRA entered the Michigan market as an independent testing lab and issued certification to WinSpirit in August 2023.
