Oliver Chow, who had been serving as interim CFO of Light & Wonder since August, has been appointed as the company’s permanent CFO. Chow, who previously held the position of SVP of corporate finance, succeeded Connie James, who stepped down from the permanent CFO position to pursue other career opportunities.
Chow, a well-seasoned veteran and also an EVP and treasurer at Light & Wonder, has been deeply involved in the company’s structure and ethos. Light & Wonder CEO Matt Wilson expressed his happiness with Chow’s permanent appointment, stating that he sees Chow as a valuable addition to the company with a proven track record within its structures.
Wilson praised Chow’s ability to seamlessly step into the role of CFO and highlighted his more than 15 years of entertainment and gaming leadership experience and deep financial expertise. Chow has also held senior-level finance positions in rival Aristocrat and has worked for Universal Pictures, JPMorgan Chase, and Deluxe Entertainment Services.
Chow’s experience in the gambling industry, gained during his time at Aristocrat, makes him well-versed in finance specific to that industry. He joins Light & Wonder at a time when the company is showing strong financial results, thanks in part to the recent acquisition of SciPlay, which has already had a positive impact on the company’s third-quarter financials.
Overall, Chow’s appointment as the permanent CFO of Light & Wonder is seen as a positive step for the company’s future growth and success.
